  • ET Strength Class – November 2022

This small-group course is designed to introduce athletes of all skill levels to a properly formulated strength training program. The class is based on scientific research, the experience of personal training professionals, and input from successful coaches and athletes around the country. The class includes a different workout each week that is targeted at total body development.

  • ET Stretching & Foam Rolling Class – Oct 8 – Nov 16

Recovery.  On any given day, we subject our bodies to physical strains and stresses, some as a direct result of activities we partake in; others as a passive result of our work/commute postures and sleeping postures.

The human body is a magnificently built compound of bones, and soft tissue, and there are many simple things we can do to help OUR body return back to a state of balance from muscle to muscle, joint to joint.

This class is designed for any and all!  Triathletes, runners, basketball players, desk jockeys, stay-at-home parents, teachers, office workers, cyclists…. it can be beneficial for ALL humans, as we are all comprised of the same bones and soft tissue structures at the end of the day, and the act of “putting ourselves back together again” is not unique from human to human, but rather quite similar for us all.

Each class will run 30-min in length, and participants will need to bring:

    • foam roller
    • 12” or 16” trigger point ball (a 16” softball works well)

Each session will run 6-weeks in length, and participants can sign up for 1x/week, or 2x/week.  Each class will have a particular muscle region that is focused on, along with repetition of some of the “usual suspects” that seem to plague us all on a routine basis.  Sarah Wangerin will be leading this series.  She is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Triathlon Coach and Cycling Coach with Experience Triathlon.  Her background in massage therapy and ongoing work with physical therapy patients and athletes is the inspiration for this course, as she has found that regardless of body size, type, or activity level, we all seem to have similar ongoing aches and pains, many of which ARE correctable with purposeful stretching and foam rolling!  😊

  • ET Swim 201: Swimming With Purposeful Power – Feb 15

    Saturday February 15, 2020

“Swim harder.”  “Swim faster.”  “Reduce your number of strokes per length.”  “Increase your distance-per-stroke.”  These are all phrases that swimmers have inevitably heard at some point during a workout or swim set.  But what do each of them MEAN?  How does one actually become a STRONGER SWIMMER, with full intention of HOW they are producing power in the water?

***PARTICIPANTS MUST BE EXPERIENCED FREESTYLE SWIMMERS.  This is NOT designed to teach participants HOW to swim (see ET Swim 101 – Learn to Swim), but rather to help experienced swimmers become more efficient and economical!

Much too often, swimmers make themselves WORK HARDER, but they don’t actually improve what matters most—having an efficient stroke with total purpose.  There is a very elusive element to freestyle swimming, an element that is difficult to capture and own…it is the element of truly FEELING the water, and recognizing your personal “purchase” on the water so that you can do as much with one arm stroke as possible.

This swim clinic is one that puts away clocks, watches, and timed intervals.  Instead, it will focus on a very simple step-by-step progression of the mechanics of an efficient stroke, with an emphasis on the catch.  All distracting elements will be removed, allowing swimmers to isolate out very miniscule muscle movements, so that they can truly find resonation between these muscle movements, their core, and physical skin contact with the water.  Join Coach Kurt Woodward as he takes you through an exciting approach to understanding our ability to move through the water with more efficiency.

    Cost:  $35

    Length of Class:  90 minutes

    Time:  3:00pm

Location: ET Training Center. 4225 Naperville Rd. IL 60532

  • ET Tire Changing Clinic – May 13

The outdoor riding season is almost here. Are you ready to change a flat? Do you have all the right supplies & tools?

Join us at Spokes Wheaton for a tire changing clinic with ET head coach, Joe LoPresto. You can even bring your own bike and practice!

“The information from the tire change clinic paid off for me very soon after the session. I had the dreaded double flat on a ride. Prior to the clinic, my ride would have been done. I was carrying only 1 tube and had the repair tools, but didn’t know how to use them. After seeing the demonstration I had the confidence to tackle fixing the flats and I had begun carrying 2 tubes! The flats got changed and I was able to finish my ride! The information Coach Joe presents is immediately useful. I highly recommend everyone attend this clinic!” – Eric R.

This clinic is free to ET coached athletes and ET Club members. Not a member? Sign up for ET Club today HERE.
