Never give in, never.

Never give in, never.

It’s often said that history repeats itself.  And war is a big part of human history.  As the son of a tough Brit, I’ll always remember the stories my dear Mum shared.  They included glorious tales of dancing for the troops throughout the UK during WWII.  There were also many stories and lessons about great leadership.  Leadership in the most desperate of times.  Times when it would be easy to just quit.  Nightly air raids, bombs and moving from shelter to shelter.  She always told me, “only the strong survive”.  I believed her.  She often mentioned a man named Winston Churchill…

“We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.” – Winston Churchill, June 4, 1940

We now find ourselves at war, my friends.  A war against an invisible enemy (COVID-19).  One that has the capability of changing our way of life.  I know, deep in my heart, that we will win this war.  That we will fight to the finish to preserve our way.  I’ve experienced the spirit and courage of our team, our country and the people of world, and we will not, we cannot, be stopped.
