BIGELOW IS BACK, BABY!
After a year off recovering from shoulder surgery, it is great to be back in the saddle (literally) again. The SheRox Women’s Tri was my first real test for my shoulder and I must say, it held up great. I arrived early in the morning (around 4:30am) and was the first one in transition (other than the guys setting up the transition); this allowed me to scout out Centennial Pool and stare down my enemy. It was quite peaceful and race conditions were perfect.
As time was drawing near to the start, my mantra for the day was, “I am a machine!!”; when my wave hit the water, I truly felt like I was a machine… a machine with a swim buddy 🙂 (I’m not proud). After I circled the first buoy, it was all downhill from there. I finished the swim and the race with a personal record time!
Thanks to Coach Joe and the ET team for their encouragement through all of the training and being there on race day!! All I can say is, “Bigelow is Back!!”
Congrats, Lynn, on a great comeback race!! You are a superstar!
