He ran track and played soccer in high school and went on to play 4 years of collegiate soccer at Missouri State University. After graduation, Jim took up distance running and completed his first marathon in 2006. Since then, he has run 9 marathons, including 2 in Boston (2009 and 2011). In 2008, Jim felt the urge to try his hand at multisport and signed up for the Galena Triathlon. He immediately felt a pull toward the additional challenge and variety that multisport offered and the rest was history! In 2010, he signed up for his first Ironman 70.3 and enlisted the help of Coach Joe. After spending some time with the entire Experience Triathlon group and getting to know how genuine, friendly and interesting of a group they were, he was hooked!

Jim is extremely passionate about helping other people discover the joys of triathlon and endurance sports in general, and he has helped inspire numerous family members and friends to try anything from their first 5K to a marathon or triathlon. He is especially excited for the opportunity to help spread the “ET philosophy” in the city of Chicago. With ET, it is about enjoying the journey and working together to help YOU achieve YOUR goals each and every day, no matter what those might be. With the right mindset, multisport can become a way of life for anyone and can lead to better health, great friendships and a whole lot of fun.

Jim graduated from Missouri State University in 2005 with a B.S. in Political Science. He has been employed with CH Robinson for the past 8 years and has held multiple leadership roles within the company. Jim is also an active member of Toastmasters International, which is an organization that focuses on helping people develop their leadership and public speaking skills.  Jim is a USA Triathlon Level 1 Certified Coach with Experience Triathlon
