Nutrition Tip – Choose the Safest Supplements

Taking supplements?  If your sports food has a “Supplement Facts” panel, it’s a supplement.  Regulation is aftermarket (the FDA can take unsafe products off the market) and depends on the government budget.  Companies don’t have to prove safety before selling a product.  Many products, especially men’s lifestyle enhancement, weight loss, and sports performance products, are adulterated with banned substances to ensure results and repeat purchases.  Check for safety at NSF Certified for Sport, Informed Choice, or the Banned Substances Control Group.
