Suzy Cerra
Triathlon & Cycling Coach
President – ET Youth Club

“Suzy introduced me to running and helped me reach my personal goal of running a 5K. The beginners run class she led provided a welcoming and friendly environment to learn the basics, get started running and be inspired by others. Suzy’s enthusiasm and encouragement kept me going and enabled me to complete the course despite the rain, snow and freezing cold. Thanks to Suzy, I now run regularly and feel the benefits of a healthier and more balanced lifestyle, and I’m already thinking about my next challenge.” More testimonials for Coach Suzy
Coach Suzy has been an endurance athlete for more than 13 years. In her quest for fitness and a healthy lifestyle, Suzy discovered the joy of running between the birth of her two daughters, ages 15 and 12. She found that running was an effective means of weight loss/control as well as stress relief. Always having been a full-time working professional, Suzy takes an integrative approach to coaching and fitness by helping athletes balance the demands of life with their personal athletic goals. Suzy has run countless races at the 5k to the marathon distance, and her love of running led her to the world of multi-sport seven years ago after watching one of her best friends compete in the Naperville Women’s Triathlon. Suzy enjoys racing a variety of sprint, Olympic and Ironman 70.3 distance courses annually.
After an 18 year career as a manager and executive in the travel industry which allowed Suzy to fine tune her leadership skills and abilities, she is currently a full-time Level I certified USA Triathlon coach and a Level III USA Cycling certified coach. Suzy is also an Ambassador for lululemon athletica. She has several years of experience as a run coach specializing in teaching adults to remain injury free through proper training/coaching while they are breaking into the sport of running. Suzy enjoys utilizing her educational background and training to teach special needs children to live a life of fitness. She is the President and head coach of ET Youth, and she has experience in coaching kid’s triathlon training programs. She enjoys using her experience and knowledge to help adult triathletes achieve their goals. Suzy strongly believes that having a healthy balance with family, work and personal commitments is critical, and the main goal is to have fun while achieving fitness and athletic goals.
She is a graduate of The University of Colorado at Boulder with a BA in Communications and Psychology. In her free time, she enjoys supporting her two daughters, both of whom swim competitively, play water polo, and enjoy competing in youth triathlon events. Just for fun, she also sells triathlon jewelry and a line of fine sterling silver jewelry called Silpada.
